Cliff's is the kind of corner restaurant you used to find all over, but now rarely do. It's a familiy-run operation, with walls full of mounted fish, sports memorabilia, drawings from the children of regulars, and such things. You know it's going to be interesting when you see the building - a white cinder block box, with their name, hours, and claim to fame (Home of the Secret Recipe Potato Pancakes) painted in red on the exterior. The place is small, so there can be a wait sometimes, especially if you've got a large group. But everyone is friendly and unless you're starving, you won't mind the wait. Oh, and the hours are a bit unusual. Open breakfast and lunch TH - Su, and Friday night for fish-fry dinners.
Thursday 6 AM - 1 PM
Friday 6 AM - 8 PM
Saturday 7 AM - 1 PM
Sunday 8 AM - 1 PM
Favorite Dish: The food here is fried food heaven: 5 or 6 kinds of fried fish, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, and of course, the world famous potato pancakes - which are really good. The potato pancakes are available for breakfast, too. they're crispy, and full of fat and salt. I recommend them with over-easy eggs. yum! Fill those arteries right up. And of course they have all of the standard breakfast foods, but I just can't stop eating those potato pancakes!
You can find Kringle at many places throughout Racine. On my last time through, I stopped at Bendtsen's Bakery and Cafe. Like many other places, they'll deliver Kringle throughout the USA.
