Racine Restaurants

  • Off the Beaten Path

Cliff's is the kind of corner restaurant you used to find all over, but now rarely do. It's a familiy-run operation, with walls full of mounted fish, sports memorabilia, drawings from the children of regulars, and such things. You know it's going to be interesting when you see the building - a white cinder block box, with their name, hours, and...

  • A typical Danish Bakery

You can find Kringle at many places throughout Racine. On my last time through, I stopped at Bendtsen's Bakery and Cafe. Like many other places, they'll deliver Kringle throughout the USA.

This has been a good location for years and now even better, it is smoke-free. Food is good with an excellant selection of bottle and tap beers. Now my favorite nite spot.

Dress Code: Casual is fine also suit and tie is common after work.

Racine Off The Beaten Path

  • Strange Art Deco Bridge

This is one of the strangest bridges I've ever seen. The arches of this bridge are adorned with the most unusual glazed terracotta pieces. There is a sort of bas-relief seal featuring a bison surrounded by a wreath, upon which rests an eagle. Another faux seal features to overflowing cornucopia flanking a shield with a sheaf of wheat, a plow, and a...

Wright. The building was completed in April 22,1939 , the same year as the New York Worlds fair, and is compared to the fair . Thus it is...
