Next to the Community Park is a Veterans Park which includes a memorial to all Burnett County Veterans who have served in the military and especially those who paid the ultimate price.

On the courthouse grounds is a nice Law Enforcement Memorial dedicated to three local officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Siren has a nice little historic district with a few buildings of historical and/or architectural interest.

Siren is a town of about 800 (down almost 20% since 2000) located in Northwest Wisconsin at the intersection of Wisconsin Highways 35 and 70. The first settlers in the area were Ojibwa Indians and French Fur Traders. In the 1880s Swedish settlers came and the town was established. The town was named Syren (Swedish for Lilac) by the first postmaster but it is believed the post office thought this was a misspelling and changed it to Siren . Siren is the county seat of Burnett County. The Burnett County Courthouse looked pretty new and while not that ugly was not overly impressive either.

The Bear Den Quilt Co. has fabulous collections of fabrics by Bartenex, RJR, Hoffman. They have an incredible selection of quilting books. I can spend two hours there just looking at the gorgeous fabrics. They also have a nice assortment of quilting tools. The women working in the shop are helpful and very knowledgeable. It's a dreamy place for a quilter to spend time.
What to buy: Quilt fabric, books and tools.
What to pay: Only a quilter knows for sure!
