  • Union Monument to "War of the Rebellion"

Like so many towns across America, Two Rivers has a monument to local soldiers who fought in the "War of the Rebellion," also known as the War Between the States or the American Civil War.Being a proud descendent of several Confederate veterans, I was somewhat amused at the political spin contained in the inscription on this monument. It reads:...

  • Home of the Ice Cream Sundae

While in Two Rivers you MUST have an ice cream sundae. After all, this tasty treat was invented here. The best place in Two Rivers for a sundae is no doubt the historic Washington House. There are many options available as far as ice cream flavors and toppings go. Karen and I shared the three scoop Washington House Special - with vanilla, chocolate...

This is Phil Rohrer's Lunch in the early 60's.No extra charge for the small town charm. Raw Fries. There like potato chips that get fried about half way and then smothered in gravy. Order the cheesburger with fried onions and a side of raw fries. Leave room for the chocolate malts.

The people are warm and friendly. If your looking for big city appeal you're in the wrong place!

If you get the chance, charter a fishing boat on Lake Michigan and catch yourself some lake trout!

The Mariner's Trail is a paved and landscaped pedestrian walkway which follows the shoreline of Lake Michigan through Twin Rivers. The six-mile trail connects Two Rivers to Manitowoc, Wisconsin on the South and Point Beach State Forest on the north. It provides a very scenic pathway for those who want to get a bit of exercise. There are public restrooms along the way.

The trail is billed as "the finest shore-hugging, surf-sounding paved six miles of trail anywhere on Lake Michigan's shore." lt is open 24/7 for walkers, runners, wheelchairs, dogs on leashes 15 feet or shorter, bicycles, in line skates and skateboards. Karen and I took advantage of the trail by taking a short walk from Manitowoc to Two Rivers.
