Favorite thing: If you visit Wildcat Mountain State Park, especially in the fall, you've got to get out and hoof it to truly experience its beauty and pleasure.
There are numerous hiking trails, all reasonably well marked. (I'm not Daniel Boone, and I didn't get lost.) This is one of those parks where you'll be one of the only people around, which is kind of a shame....more folks should get out and enjoy all the national and state parks. There are more parks in America than Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Yosemite. But then again, part of the grace and charm of an October afternoon at Wildcat Mountain is that you get to spend it with your hiking partner, and basically nobody else.
Serenity.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory of Wildcat Mountain State Park would be the nice hike that my wife and I enjoyed through the scenic beauty of a fall afternoon.
