The Crown Bar: Finding the Hot Spot in Cheyenne WY
Sleven profile photo
Sleven 1 reviews

While Cheyenne is a small City with a Small town feel. The weekends in Cheyenne can be rahter entertaining. The Crown bar is a small bar with a neighborly feel. Everyone knows everyone at the crown bar. The crown bar has to levels. The Upper level play a mixture of alternative rock, Old School Rock, R&B and of course country. The lower Level or the Underground is the happening spot. Wednesday night is Metal night with a $12 all you can drink special. Thursday night is Lady Night, ladies drinks are $2 all night. Now Friday and Saturday nights at the Underground are packed. The Crown Underground is the place in town where you can hear the New and Best R&B, Hip-hop and some Top Forty. The DJ's accurately mix, blend and encourage the crowd to participate. DON'T let the size of the club fool you. While it's small everyone who enjoys actual DJ's and real Hip-hop and R&B will be trying to get into the club. The Crown is the ONLY true R&B and Hip-hop club in Cheyenne. DON'T go there expecting to hearing anything other than R&B and Hip-hop. Be prepared to hear the New Releases. In some cases they have songs months in advance. So if you want to hear New music first go to the Crown underground. The club really doesn't pick up until 11pm. Be prepared to wait in a short line if you show up after 1230. The wait is usually just a few minutes but their has been time its taken up to 15 minutes to get in.
The crowd is a mix of 21 to 30 year old men and women, cowboys and B-boy. You'll find a mix of everything at the Crown. The staff is friendly and helpful. Oh the drinks are cheap!!

Dress Code: No sleeveless shirts or dew rags. That's it!!

Nightlife?? Where???

West Lincolnway

Last week, I went on one of my whirlwind adventures, and wound up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Believe me when I tell you, there is absolutely NO nightlife. Maybe I missed something, but the only place where there was something going on was near downtown, and there were screaming kids and rednecks squealing their tires down the streets in other parts of the city. Everyone there was rough looking. I may have been in the bad part of town, but still, there is no nightlife here. Even downtown was deserted at 10PM! Pictured here is West Lincolnway...the main strip where everything is. Nothing to it...

Do yourself a favor and only come here during the day. Otherwise, you will just be wasting your time. Look at the other 2 pictures for more deserted streets.

Cowboy South: Where did everyone go???

Where'd they all go??? That was our question when the whole town cleared out. One of the locals kindly pointed us toward Cowboy South. Yup, that's where they all went. Outside there's a bar, DJ, sawdust dance floor, & mechanical bull. Inside there's a couple more dance floors, live music, pool tables, and another bar or two. The place was packed every night we were there with a lively & friendly crowd. *And Yes, I did ride the mechanical bull - three times. :-)

Dress Code: The music is honkey tonk / country. Wear Wranglers & cowboy boots if you want to look like you belong.
