Many tourists would not consider the Uinta County Courthouse as a "Thing To Do." However, since my goal is to visit every one of the 3,242 counties in the United States, I often take the time to look up the local courthouse in county seat towns I visit and take a photo. Some other county collectors take a picture of themselves in front of the courthouse to prove they were there. Personally, I don't want 3,141 pictures of my smiling mug, and I have nothing to prove to anyone but myself. I still always find the courthouse interesting - wheather it be a simple structure, a magnificant work of architecture, or something in between, like the courthouse here in Uinta County Courthouse here in Evanston.
On the day I visited the Uinta County Courthouse I passed the 87% mark in my county quest.

Vagabond Inn: Cheapest Bed in Town
Stephen-KarenConn Says: The main reason I stayed at the independent Vagabond Motel in Evanston, Wyoming, is because, at $49.95 plus tax, it was ten dollars cheaper than the nearby Motel Six. It could well be the least expensive accomodation in Evanston. My room was clean enough but could have been...
During my recent overnight stay in Evanston, Wyoming, I was in the mood for Chinese food and found the Dragon Wall Restaurant in a strip mall. This was a typical all-you-can-eat chinese buffet with average offerings.
My meal was tasty and satisfying, however, my table had a sticky residue from a previous diner and the entire place could have used some cleaning. From the looks of other folks eating there it seemed to be a popular spot with some of the locals.
The price was right at $8.45 for dinner. Lunch is a couple of dollars less. Fountain drinks are included in that price.

This is a great restaurant with the worst service in history. ask any customer who comes in and i do mean ANY CUSTOMER. I live in this town and frequent this eatery often as the food is very good.
the problem is that the owner runs the entire restaurant by herself and refuses to let anyone help her do anything. when dining in, be prepared to wait 25 minutes after ordering for something as simple as soup and eggroll. the main course often takes an hour or even longer and thats when the restaurant is not full. if you order take out, be prepared to wait 45 minutes for it to be available for pick up and when you get there, there is always a long line of people waiting because your order is not ready. the locals in this town love the food here but we all are disgusted with the long wait times.

Favorite thing: Evanston, situated at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level, is scenic, high, dry country. The town boasts 300 days of sunshine per year. It is surrounded by arid plains with nearby Rocky Mountain peaks which remain snow covered most of the year. Summers are generally pleasant with balmy days and cool nights. Winters are long and cold. This is a great place for those who enjoy outdoor activities and winter sports.
