The map of Flaming Gorge Recreation Area and the sights near Henry's Fork had been taken down and not replaced because it had been vandalized twice recently. I will never understand why some people feel a need to damage others property.
Favorite thing: This is Henry's Fork located along Wyoming Highway 530. This landscape was formed during the Middle Eocene Epoch some 40 to 52 million years ago. The towers were part of the ancient lake called "Goslute" and the sandstone formations are Laney Member of the Green River Formation. Fossil records of the period abound here. This is a nice overlook and there is a turnoff just north of here for the Lucerne Marina and another overlook. You can also access several very nice overlooks by driving down US Highway 191 along the eastern side of the recreation area.
