Keeline started around 1910 in the area of the 4J Ranch and was named for ranch owner George A, Keeline. The town then saw an influx of farmers and homesteaders. The population of Keeline peaked at about 440 but had dropped to 4 by 1986. Nearby was an interesting town called Jireh. Jireh was a religious community organized by a Christian Church out of Dayton, Ohio. The community was organized around the church and Jireh College. However, the community and the college died out due to the faailure of the farmers to raise good crops in this dry part of the country.
