This is one of the highlights of the park. It is well worth it to stop & see this tower of cascading minerals.

OK I'm not sure if this qualifies as a MUST DO activity. But for me i felt a need to buy Native-American Indian artifacts in the Park, because i wanted to support a people who i believe have been brutally robbed over the years.
    I love Native-American Indian Paintings.

AGAIN NOT YET IN YELLOWSTONE you can visit Fort Phil Kearny or what remains of it... it was abandoned and burned by the Indians. This fort was in the middle of the Indian country between Fort Laramie and the gold fields of Montana.

Now are just the plaques of what was build and you have to guess more than see but if you feel like to have a stop between Sheridan and Buffulo why not enjoying this atmosphere of the past...

    Devils Tower National Monument
'Devil's Tower, Wyoming, a volcanic plug or neck. In Kiowa Indian mythology it was said that: Once upon a time seven little girls were playing in the woods far from home and they came upon some bears that chased after them. They found refuge on a great rock, that rose into sky with them on it, making them into stars. The bears tried to pursue them, but all their efforts were in vain. You can still see the struggle and their claw marks in the rock that makes up Devil's Tower.'

And don't try to take a picture of two male mooses fighting if you are on a trail not exactly near to a way out, they can smell you approaching and turn their rage to you... I was taken away before the two mooses enraged to me and I complained for a whole day with my rescuer who also prevented me from snapping my pic...

I stop complaining only after finding this male moose with its big antlers watering itself in a river near the road the day after.

Geysers, hot springs, fumaroles and mud pots...

Surface water seeps down into porous rock layers to be heated under pressure and then rises back up: as superheated water nears the surface, pressure drops and it flashes into the steam of a geyser.

Old Faithful Geyser, in the pic, is the best known geyser and eruptes with intervals at an average of 65 minutes, ranging from 30 to 120 minutes but the visitor center provides you an eruption timetable.

Hot springs occures when water emerges that is not superheated nor under pressure.

Fumaroles, lacking enough moisture to flow, vent steam.

Mud pots form over fumaroles the acid gases of which decompose rocks into mud and clay.
