Wild life spotting and scenic beautic watching. The pictures within this report does not do it justice. Just got to go there and experience it.

Our best memory was watching a grizzly bear work its way through a bunch of wild berries. In this picture a water fall within the park

Just to give you some geologic history about how the Park was formed...

About 600,000 years ago the area that is now the center of the park exploded. At the center of the explosion remained a crater, known as the caldera. The boiling hot springs, fumaroles and geysers are all evidence that the this earth can explode again.

The unfortunate event of the 1988 fire stills leaves scars on the Park, but Mother Nature has rebounded with evidence of young trees throughout the entire Park.

My favorite thing about the Park to the diversity of wildlife and scenery you can witness just by driving the Park Loop Road.

More than half of the 3 million annual visitors go to the Park between July and August. The best time to go, would be in September or early October when there are fewer visitors.

INSPIRATION POINT: This is where the spectacular view of the Yellowstone's GRAND CANYON can be seen. It's a short paved walk located at the North Rim Drive.

At ARTIST POINT breathtaking views of the LOWER FALLS which plummets 308 feet in a roaring white curtain against the backdrop of the awesome river-carved canyon is one fine experience of the soul.

The most amazing thing about this glacier-scoured landscape is the deep gorge (1200 ft deep!) of the V-shaped canyon. Glacier flowed across the canyon rather than down its length thereby crushed & rearranged the surface, scraped the rim but not the depth!

The rigorous walk down to the Falls is not to be attempted unless you are healthy & strong. Take my word for it, ok? (Don't do it especially if you've to get back to the coach in 15 minutes!)

Here, it says: The Canyon varies from 800 to 1200 ft in depth & from 1500 5o 4000 ft in width. Its length is about 24 miles. The upper 2.5 miles is the most colorful section. Hot spring activity has continued through the ages altering the lava rock to produce lovely colors which are largely due to varied iron compounds.

GRAND CANYON OF YELLOWSTONE: The volcanic rock of the canyon walls, naturally gray or pinkish, was given its brilliant yellow stain by minerals in seeping hot water.

To read more about this wonderful sight, please proceed to its official site at NPS.gov.

As with all national parks, these sceneries are best experienced on site & in 3 dimension. It's difficult to describe my feelings & emotions when I was faced with such magnificence & stunning vistas. The best I could do is perhaps share with friends & family what I saw there through the camera lens.

The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone (formed by erosion rather than by glaciation) is roughly 20 miles long, 800 ft. to 1,200 ft. deep and 1,500 ft. to 4,000 ft. wide. It's an amazing sight to behold and one that you have to see for yourself to believe. Part of this area of the park are the falls...the falls were formed by the Yellowstone River as it flows over softer, less resistant rock. The Upper Falls is 109 ft. high while the Lower Falls is 308 ft. high. There are many points from where you can view the falls...Lookout Point, Red Rock Point, Artist Point, Brink of the Lower Falls Trail, and from various points on the South Rim Trail. One lesser-known fact is that there is a third falls (Crystal Falls is the outfall of Cascade Creek into the canyon).
