Had a great time peaking into the windows of these buildings.The rustic look of these buildings is so Montana.This area produced more than $30 million dollars in gold in the late 1800's.Some 35,000 people lived in this area at that time.
This place is worth the 90 mile drive from the West Entrance of Yellowstone.As the crow flies it's 20 miles but unless you got wings!
Star Bakery is historically correct to this area as are others in this town but some of the building have been moved from other places and restored.
This is home of the Alder Gulch Short Line,a mile and a half track stretched from Nevada City MT. to Virginia City MT.
