I entered friday 6 pm I ordered the Bife de Lomo-32 peso and a coke 6 peso= 39 peso.
There was table bread with butter I ate the whole thing. They also gave me an empanada it was hot and good. The steak was big and good it came with fries the fries were dry.

Great steak for the price.
The steak was not as big as the one at Desnivel.
It was empty. One couple left as I got my steak and a group of 6 entered after I ordered.

I arrived at Don Julio at 7;30PM on a wed night when they open at night. I and another couples enter at the same time. There happens to be a soccer game between Uruguay and Argentina soccer team. I order the Bife do Lomo med rare 45 peso and a coke total 60 pesos.
The Steak came med rare a little cold the one at El Marisol was hot. This one was a little warm I guess he did not want to over cook the med rare too much?

Leather on top serving as place mates, signed wine bottles on display all over the walls.
There is an upstairs.

I order the Salmon Arroz 65 peso Pisco sour 25 peso it was small but strong and a glass of water with gas 10. They also charged 16 peso for Cubiertos Total 116 for lunch.
I arrived at 12;45pm I think they open at 12;30 for lunch. I was the 1st one in. No one else came in until about 1;30 wheni was almost finished.

They served me different types of bread right away while I waited for my Pisco sour drink.
They speak very little english. No English Menu Not like the other Astrid and Gaston I have been to in Lima-Peru and in Panama.
The Chef did come up to me who was the only one who could speak any English and asked if I needed anything.
On my 2nd visit to eat here I had the Pisco sour25 peso Cebiche mixto 45 Peso Duck=arroz c Pato a punto 72 Peso agua /gas 10 peso cubiertos 16 pesos= total 169 pesos for lunch.

Favorite Dish: The Bread was excellent the fish was good. The fish came with rice and scallops I was full.
The menu does not seem to be like the others Astrid Gaston where the food is prepared like art work like a one of a kind painting.

sfphototraveller 195 reviews

I arrived at Status a peruvian place around 8;30pm on a monday night. It was half full.
I ordered a pisco sour and antichucos, Lamb. The Pisco sour was a little weak it needed more booze but could just be me. The antichucos wer hot tender sliced up in thin pieces already with potatoes. The Lamb was still on the bone thick hot some parts were soft tender other parts hard came with rice and potatoes. total 48 pesos. I left around 9;45pm and all the tables were full. I suggest taking a cab ride after leaving here.
I did see others get the platters of Ceviche, it look good.
I got 2 plates full of food for 48 pesos. I would of been happy with just one plate but didnt know what portions it was going to be.

The asado de tira=grilled sirloin steak was excellent tender juicy I would go back just for the meat.
And a excellent fruit salad.
I also had a glass of red wine.
the bill came out to 57 peso or $ 14 or 10 Euro.

On my 3 rd visit I ordered bife de lomo 45 peso med rare. and Malbec reserva Terrazas 375 ml Half bottle 45 peso and a glass of water with gas carbonated.102 peso total. It was a sunday night. They seem to be busiest on sundays. Because of all the people going to and from the Cemetary which is a big tourist place .

Favorite Dish: My favorite is the meat grilled sirloin steak. tender juicy. This place is a 1 min walk from my rental unit on Junin street. The Promo they have seems a good value to me.
I dont have to take taxi.

I had the Lemon Chicken it came hot on a plate with a lemon flavoring.30 Pesos.
Jasmine tea 10 Peso. It does not come with rice. Total 40 Pesos= $ 10

I would be able to get much more in SF. At least rice included.
They dont have english menus and speak very little english at this Restaurant. The menu gots pics.
No website.
I was trying to not eat beef for a least one meal to lower my chelosteral and tryglycerides (spelling?!) from all the steak beef meat I have been eating everyday for lunch and dinner.
This restaurant was rated one of the highest rated in the Vidal Buzzi Resturants de Buenos Aires Guia 2007/2008. you could see a blog at http://chowhound.com/topics/508484

Its not my blog. I plan on sticking to the meat and beef because it seems to be a better value at least for the currency exchange rate for now.
