  • Marini: Best Buffet Ever

by Roseemery Written Nov 24, 2007

This is where we enjoyed our first lunch (although it was mid-afternoon) on our first day in Buenos Aires. We were exploring Santa Fe and decided this would be the perfect place. It is quite spectacular. For less than $10 each, we ate the most fabulous food - everything you could possibly think of and all delicious. We intended to go back and try more wonderful dishes, but we ran out of time!

Favorite Dish: Wonderful appetizers and pasta dishes. Parilla was good and desserts were yummy.

Marini: The Best Buffett In Buenos Aires, It's Huge!

I was so impressed I took pictures. 22 pesos ( $7.33) for lunch and 33 pesos ( $ 11.00) for Dinner. That includes drink and dessert. They have so many different types of food. They have the chefs standing by their counters ready to cook the different dishes they have displayed in the front. At night they had sushi also. They take no credit cards though.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere, great food, a great price, and a great location. I don't think it will be listed in any guidebooks, but if you are looking to go to a good place where you will find locals in a nice, safe neighborhood, this place is great. I only know about it in fact because it is a couple of blocks from my house.

The restaurant is sort of a buffet, but with a real nice restaurant atmosphere. It is not actually a buffet line, rather, you have different food stations located in the area where you get your food. There is a sushi station, a pasta station, a fish station, dessert station, etc. And of course you will find the meat, being cooked right on the grill. This is great because if you don't speak Spanish, just point to what yu want. The restaurant has a huge wine selection, and best of all, dinner costs just 18 pesos (about $7 US), not including your drink. You can't beat the quality orr the price for what you get.

The restaurant is located right on Avenida Santa Fe, the major thoroughfare of the district of Palermo, which is safe, clean, and nice, but not as touristy as the areas like Puerto Madero or Recoleta.
