    El Obelisco: great area to walk around downtown

    • When I went there some years ago, it was awesome , tango shows were incredible, the food was also great. People are a little bit less warm than other South American countries, but it's the capital, big town.
    Other provinces , there is a huge difference.
    Great nightlife in Buenos Aires. La boca and the pink palace are a must seeing.

    Built in 1936 to conmemorate 400 years of the city's existence. It is 220 ft (67 meters) high and was built in 31 days. The plaza where it sits is frequently the site where a win by the national soccer team is celebrated. Once in a while it gets 'spruced' up for different reasons. It has been decked out to resemble an extremely large condom for AIDS Awareness Day (I missed that one!) During our visit it was clothed in the national colors of Argentina and Germany to celebrate decades of cooperation between the two countries.
