    Palermo: Bosques de Palermo (Rosedal)
  • Tip Rating:
  • Big area of parks surrounded by flowers, lakes and a terrific atmosphere to do sports or simply relax yourself. There are roller-blading and bike rentals so for $8 pesos the hour you can roller-blade the whole lake.
Every year on September the 21st, young school students gather there to celebrate the coming of Springtime. There are picnics everywhere and students play games and football.

If you are going on spring or summertime, don't miss this place. There are special trips for foreigners. If you are travelling with your couple, going to the parks is a "must".

One advice though is that at night the area becomes a bit different from what it is during daytime. It is the red zone of prostitution. Tourists go anyway to see the aspects of nightlife. It is not dangerous although I would still take care of cameras and wallets. Just in case!

    Palermo: Monumento a los Españoles
  • Tip Rating:

In this way, the work is known for its true title as the Magna Carta and the
four regions of Argentina, of the Spanish collectivity resident in our country,
because of the celebration of the Centennial, and by many problems (the death of
Querol, being one of them) delayed its completion by seventeen years, concluded
finally by the sculptor's shop. The cornerstone was placed by his daughter
Isabel, who had attended the celebration. It finally was inaugurated May 25,
    1927.

You should try to get out of the downtown section and visit some of the northern residential areas which are very easy to get to. The picture shows a typical apartment building in Palermo, where I live. You can see how it resembles Frrnch architecture! The most beautiful section of Palermo is the mini section called "Palermo Chico"--don't miss walking around this neigborhood.

    Palermo: Museo Evita
  • Tip Rating:
  • If you´re interested in learning about the life of Eva Peron, Argentina`s most well known lady, the Evita Museum is worth a visit. It´s in a nice house in Palermo that the Peron government bought while in government and contains some of Evita`s personal possesions as well as TV and film footage of the lady and information about her life. The museum did seem a little too uncritical of an obviously controversial politician, but overall it was worth a visit. No sign of the musical or film in the gift shop though - obviously it wasn´t so well received over here. It`s far more expenisve than other BA museums though I think there is a special, higher price for non-Argentinians.

    Palermo: Avenida Figueroa Alcorta
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is another of Buenos aires' wide avenues. Here you can find some beautiful places like the Law Faculty which has a great building, it's worth a visit or at least to pass by. You can also find the Modena cafe right in front of the faculty. In Figueroa Alcorta you can also find a few nice restaurants and some jewerly stores.
