This is a small Argentinian folk bar we found on recommendation from our Australian friends and it was loads of fun! For a 5 peso cover for women, 7 pesos for men, you get to sit and listen to guitar players, see traditional dance shows, or listen to folk music on the loudspeakers. And included in the price is a free bottle of wine or beer for each person! We were able to drink a lot and have a great time all at one place! The website will be able to explain more, check it out! Me outside a 'Spanish' Cinema by city_guy Besides clubbing and drinking the night away, here's another thing you can do in Buenos Aires. Watching movies....in 'Spanish' reading the subtitles(if you don't understand spanish). I caught an Arnold movie there, can't remember the name, but I sure had some fun in the massive cinema. What shocked me was the fact that after about 10 mins of commercials, they turned the lights on again and there were these junk-food vendors shouting if anyone wanted some munchies. Then after about 5 mins of shouting, they resumed the darkness and got on with the movie. hehehehe. It was an experience. ☺

At the HRC with Sharon by city_guy Well, I did not get any pictures from the clubs that I went, but all I can say is that Argentinians just know how to party! Only problem is they are still partying to the music of the 80's & 90's and of course some current rave hits.☺

Tango at Ideal by Waxbag There are many many Tango venues in B.A. Grab a free BA Tango or el tangauta. These are hard to find. They may have one in your hostel or hotel. They are also in Tango shoe stores. You can find info on classes and on dances. A good way to go is to find a dance that gives lessons before the dance begins. Then you may have an opportunity to meet more people as they switch partners during the lesson. The cultural centers are great way to get good lessons at a very reasonable price. Check out their schedules by using the above. Carlos Ricciutti is a very enthusiastic teacher at the Recoleta Cultural Center who speaks english. He taught there on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. A great web site is http://www.tangodata.com.ar/ There are many venues check out the BA Tango publications for the latest. Check out my Tango Travel Log for more info and picture on the Tango scene.
I would say in general, look good when you go out in Buenos Aires. The locals are very fashionably dressed. Tango is danced by the young and old, and for the most part they all look good. Coat and Ties are not necessary but blue jeans and sneakers wouldn't look good. Wear shoes that you are comfortable dancing in. Most places don't have a nice wooden floor, so nice street shoes are usually the best. Leave a Comment

by mle267 Mitre is ( from what I remember) a relatively new club in Cordoba. It was very industrial looking, and played a nice variety of 80s music, pop and Argentine music as well. They have a decent website too www.butmitre.com

by bkathryn In November 2001, we went to a pub outside of Bariloche (on the way to Llao Llao). I think it was the Cervecería Blest. I do have a picture of it. Excellent beer and there was also a little attached shop, so it was also a shopping opportunity.

My favorite thing to do was to watch the sun start to set around 11pm. This was a new experience for me. I really enjoyed the long days and the sunsets were quite different. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by Capree did plenty of partying in at Buenos Aires but mainly privat parties at peoples appartments etc. there was a couple of bars I went to one was called Kilkenny in the city centre Its and Irish bar quite expensive (a pint of beer $5 US) which I find ironic considering how cheap alcohol is in the shops. I have never been to a place that lets so many people in as what that place did but in saying that we always managed to have a great time there. If you are looking for english speaking forigners then its probably the best place to go as travelers seem to visit there and it is in the Lonly Planet guide to South America Leave a Comment Theme: DancingDirections: Buenos Aires city centreOther Contact: Lonly Planet guide to South Amer

This bar is the upstairs level of a restaurant and if you want atmosphere, this place OOZES atmosphere. You can take your drink outside on a lovely patio, or sit inside with your friends in the candlelight. Itıs a great place for a couple to sit and be romantic or also for a group of friends to go drink, laugh, and be merry! Itıs lovely here! Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingDirections: On Parana 1000 block, near Avenida Santa Fe! Pay attention because its not well marked, itıs written on the sign for the restaurant. Either way, if you get lost, theres loads of other stuff in that area!
