Tango shows - Tango places: Tango Lessons/Dancing

by Porteno

Head to the 10:30 p.m. Friday or Saturday beginners classes (9:30 on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday) at La Viruta (6 pesos), curiously located in the basement of the city's Armenian cultural center (Armenia 1366; 4774-6357; www.lavirutatango.com). After lessons, the dancing continues until 6 a.m.

Bars and Clubs

by nach11

El Living: Great party place!

by reon80

This resto-bar boliche (disco) opens at 10pm and you can party till about 8 in the morning! Its got comfy couches and a big screen that plays music videos, as well as a bar and a bunch of tables for big groups of people to have dinner before they clear out the tables and let you dance the night away:) I threw a party there last weekend and it was a big success--at least that´s what they tell me. It´s really easy to set up nights out in Buenos Aires, you just pick your favorite bar and make a reservation--they you can eat, chat, and dance for about 15 pesos ($5 USD!). Great fun! Anything, clubbing clothes recommended.

Mitre: Party Scene

by mle267

Mitre is ( from what I remember) a relatively new club in Cordoba. It was very industrial looking, and played a nice variety of 80s music, pop and Argentine music as well. They have a decent website toowww.butmitre.com women tended to be dressier than the men

Asian Fusion Restaurant: Dancing Until Dawn

by csimone

Great place to go out to eat and then at 1am it turns into a nightclub--caliente!Had an awesome time and the music was great. People were pretty cool--especially as the night wore on and on and the beat was pumping. cool, funky..definitely not a sneakers-type place.

Tequila: Red Velvet and Disco Balls

by reon80

Interesting atmosphere! We attended a private party here and played pool and danced the night away! The whole place is quite small and all done in red velvet type curtains and funny looking benches and tables! Really fun both for just chatting with friends or for dancing, although some nights are better than others! No jeans or sneakers or you wont get in!

World Sports Cafe: Drinks and a really funny singer

by reon80

This is a bar that backs up against Recoleta Cemetary, near Planet Hollywood and Club Sahara. It´s great for drinks (which are half price before 10) before going out clubbing on the weekends! Plus, they have a really funny singer that brings people onstage and takes requests and tries to be Robbie Williams. A nice place to start your evening!

Mint: Amazing Atmosphere by the River!

by reon80

This club is amazing! They have a huge dance floor inside with loads of awesome DJs, mostly techno and house, but some pop remixes. It is surrounded by a VIP seating section that looks a lot like a harem-type curtained area. You have to reserve it two months in advance! Then outside is a terrace with another dance floor and another bar (there´s like three inside). The terrace leads onto a patio which you can hang out on and look out over the river to Uruguay! Wow! Talk about something for everyone! Plus, interestingly, the terrace is surrounded by beds so you can lay under the stars and relax before going back to dance until dawn! Its an amazing feeling to go into a club when its dark and emerge into the sunlight six hours later! You can wear regular clubbing clothes, but make sure to bring lots of cash, its 20 pesos to get in (only about 7 dollars:)).
