La Plata Museum

by andal13

The city of La Plata was founded in 1880, on purpose, to become the capital of the Province of Buenos Aires. It was carefully planned, so it is a very neat town (it is familiarly called "city of diagonals"). The Museo de Ciencias Naturales (Natural Sciences Museum), which depends from Universidad Nacional de La Plata (National University of La Plata), it is a MUST for everybody, not only for scientists, teachers and students. The whole collection is just amazing; it includes paleontology, zoology, botany, anthropology and archaeology samples. Of course, the vedettes are the Dinosaurs, situated at the Paleontology rooms. Posada Suyai

by Pierangelo

150 km from Cochrane and near Cerro San Lorenzo there is a magic and peaceful place on the riverside of lake Pueyrredòn. The lake is divided into two parts by a natural dike and has two different colors: one part blue and the other green. From here you can have a trekking in Canyon of Gold.

if u are in Buenos Aires the cheapesr way to get there is to take a bus from Retiro and u get there in 12 hours.Otherwise u can fly there, which is also pretty cheap, with Austral or Aerolineas Argentinas which leave from the airport in Palermo.

Iguazu : Listen to the rangers.. Sympas les gardes

by Maillekeul

... not only because they will tell you every warnings you have already listened to, but because they can show you the marvels of this Park, if you're nice enough with them... They will show you the birds you didn't even notices and they will tell you a lot about fauna and flora... And this is also working when you did not pay for a guided visit !

Iguazu : The price to pay for the falls...

by Maillekeul

Seeing the "cataratas" from the Argentina side is not expensive, but prices have changed last November. You must pay 30 pesos (10 USD) to enter the park, and then you are allowed to take the train and a small boat (just a transportation, no shower trip !) to Isla San Martin. If you want to come back the day after, validate your ticket before leaving, and you will pay only 15 pesos for your re-entrance...Pas tres cher de voir les merveilleuses chutes du cote Argentin, mais les prix ont change en novembre dernier.

El Calafate : To the Glacier - Aller au Glacier

by Maillekeul

If you want to go and watch the Moreno Glacier from El Calafate and if you are a more than 3 people group, this is really cheaper to rent a car : go to the rent-a-car on the right side of the village when facing the lakes (cheaper : from 108 to 117 pesos - 36 to 39 USD, without the 20 pesos for gasoline (200 Kilometers)). And another advice : go there really early (leave El Calafate around 5.45 in the morning), you will certainly be the firsts to arrive (and to leave) and youwill enjoy a wonderful sunrise ! Pros : it's cheaper (cheapest tours are about 70 pesos, entry of the Park (20 pesos) included) and you may leave whenever you want (and don't have to wait 4 hours and a half before coming back).Si vous voulez visiter le Glacier et que vous etes plus de 3, il est beaucoup plus rentable de louer une caisse : allez aux agences de location qui se trouvent du cote droit du village quand on...
