Wow, this place is a hidden gem for sports lovers. Came here in the winter (I mean summer here), weather was great, beaches are great, the golf courses are fantastic and they have clay court tennis. My sport is track and field and I was able to use the fantastic facilities they have in the local sports stadium. Used a company called CTL Argentina...more
Located just across from the Estacion Fluvial Tigre are the boats of Cacciola. These head out to further flung destinations outside of the Delta – the fascinating Isla Martin Garcia and Uruguayan towns of Carmelo and Nuevo Palmira, from where further bus connections exist to Colonia and Montevideo. Falkner's is a local landmark that almost all people know. The food is not all that fantastic, mostly bar type snacks and finger foods. But the beer is very good. They have about 15 unique beers. Over my visits, I have sampled nearly all of them. With the exception of the fruit beer, I like all the other 14. They have a few that are up to 14%...more

If you ask any local for a good parrilla (steakhouse or BBQ), Club Atenas will always come on the list, most likely as number one. The restaurant fills up quickly, so either get there early (~7:30pm) or make a reservation.I admit that the outside is not very attractive or even resembling a restaurant, but the inside and the food will quickly put...more
This is a festival day that honors the traditions and life of the Argentine gaucho. The day was selected as it was the birthday of the poet Jose Hernandez, who wrote the classic Martin Fierro, which was the story of the Argentine gaucho, his traditions, values, daily life. A somewhat romanticized portrait.Prepare to see the gauchos out in force,...more

Don't get the idea that you have to visit one or another estancia because you might never get another chance to see something similar. It just ain't so! When Argentina was settled, huge parcels of land were handed out. These parcels of choice land sooner or later became productive ranches, (estancias in Spanish). Not particularly different from...more
Though there is a train to Luján from Moreno, getting there from Buenos Aires by train requires patience and some adventurous spirit. If you wish to do so, get to Once Train Station by taking the Subte Linea A to Plaza Miserere. Then you walk to Once and buy a ticket to Moreno, which costs less than 50 cents of dollar. In Moreno, you should go to...more
That is the home of the patroness of Argentina, Our Lady of Luján. It is a very beautiful neogothic church built in the 19th century. The image of the saint is on the main altar, but there are interesting capelas inside, and also an image of Christ that the pilgrims touch while asking for help. Unfortunately there was a mass going on, so I thought...more
Like many regions in Argentina, Luján has got its own traditional alfajor. The really traditional ones are made of chocolate, dulce de leche or membrillo marmalade, but there are variations, like the very good one made of nut. Any shop in the city centre will sell you one of those, but there is a shop whose name I forgot, on the street in front of...more

Located in Bahía Blanca, El Mundo de la Parrilla is the best parrilla in the area. Service is excellent and the waiters are very friendly. They have descriptions in English. The food is exquisite. Wherever you go in Argentina, you will always find a place, where the locals go to have their lunch and dinner: those places are called Parillas or Asadores . .A Parailla has an "Asador",an open fire of glowing charcoals around which a number of vertical metals ("asadores") holding the beef or pieces of various meats, sometimes whole carcasses of...more

The lake is in the Laguna de Gomez Natural Park, which has a lot of houses for rent, sport facilities, a camping, the Junin Yacht Club, etc. You can practice different sports, like football, tennis, or water sports. Also, the sight is really nice!
All over Argentina, we saw Habana chocolate stores. They are in bus stations, airports, towns, cities and shopping malls. We saw a couple Villa Gesell.Acting on a tip from another tourist, we dutifully treked through several stores and ate some of their offerings. It was OK. In Villa, across Av 3 from a Habana store, was another chocolate shop...more

This parrilla (lots of grilled meat) is located right on the main drag (Av 3). When we were there at 1:00PM, it was very crowded with Argentinian families. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a full menu, so if eating a cow isn't your thing, there are plenty of other choices. We were always amazed at how much food the Argentinians...more
Most people traveling to Buenos Aires is looking to go to some typical spot. Well, I will tell you that Jofré is a still unknown place (even for many porteños or argentinians). The area (Mercedes town) is a well known town were we buy the best local salami.
In the route to Mercedes there were a small town (Jofré) were only some people know a place were you may taste delicius hand made ravioli. With the time, the comments between friends make Jofre known to a large number of people. This process with the years and the opening of more restaurants made of Jofre a gastronomical center in the Buenos Aires Province.
The "La Casona" was the begginer, but today you may found several good restaurants there. You may find it also a good place as a Convention Center. Porche, Harley Davidson and other brands make here some customer meeting point.
This is not a place that replace a visit to a farm, but a good place to taste our mix of italian and local dishes.
Quilmes is one of the 22 partidos that belong to the Great Buenos Aires, there you find the Quilmes Beer Factory and one of the top High school in Buenos Aires.
