A one way ticket in December 2004 from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque) to Cordoba cost 233P/$79USD. This was with Aerolineas Argentina. The airport in Cordoba is small and easy to get around in. There is a remis booth near the exit. From the airport to El Centro (Plaza San Martin), the cost was 17P/$5.76USD. You can book a 3 hour city tour at the Solis y Nelson travel agency on 27 de Abril just off the plaza. Cost was about $15USD per person and the tour was in English. A tour out into the countryside to see 2 old Jesuit estancias/missions was also $15. A bus ticket (TAC) to Mendoza was 32P/$10.85USD. You can buy tickets at agencies located all over town. We were told that TAC was a good bus company. However, it turned out to be a horrible trip. In Mendoza we were told that TAC used to be very good, but now it's very bad. I would never take it again given a choice. Taxi from Plaza San Martin to bus station cost 4P/$1.35USD. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

The best way to behave is with rent to car but it stops that it is necessary money and credit card, after that there are numerous tourist companies that you/they offer many tours that offer comfort and good prices. To be managed alone, the yellow cab costs around $0,50 the Km. Another chance you toasts through the urban communities with fixed price of $0,80 and the intercity ones that vary among $2,25 until the $5 dollars Leave a Comment Theme: Train

One needs to buy a token called COSPEL from one of those news agent or tobacco shops before boarding the city buses of Cordoba. So, if you are going to be out late or may end up in a place difficult to find such a place that sells 'cospeles', buy a few of them beforehand. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

An evening stroll in Cordoba by mikegr Cordoba is a lovely city to wander around in the evening as the shops are closing (around 8pm). The city is attractively lit and there are a number of musicians playing in the streets. My favourite time of day. Its worth noting that there aren't so many restaurants in the city's pedestrianized streets - Ruedo, behind the Cathedral, is one of the few - but based on the service there, I advise you to avoid it. (see my restaurant tip). Leave a Comment

Cordoba is a great place to go shopping, especially for fashionable clothes for younger people (thank the student population for this). The best places to go are the pdestrianized streets, which are very shady and you will find to the North West of Plaza San Martin (though they extend in places to the North East and South West). There are also many places to sit outside and drink coffee Leave a Comment

The Cathedral and its reflection by mikegr After getting a crick in your neck looking up at the ceiling inside the Cathedral, look down at the pavement when you go outside again. It took me a long time to realize that the seemingly random white lines (they look random when you are walking over them!) are in fact a mirror image of the Cathedral. You can see this infront of the Old City Hall and a number of other historical buildings. A nice touch. Leave a Comment

Iglesia Santa Catalina at dusk by mikegr Not the most impressive of Cordoba's religious buildings, Iglesia Santa Catalina is never the less my favourite. The interior is beautifully painted but the lighting, just above head level, only gives you an impression of it's true splendour. A tantalising glimpse. Behind the alter is a barred off section, behind which you can see the nuns in quiet, isolated contemplation. Until 7.30 pm when, with microphones amplifying their voices, they sing the most beautiful music - it is exquisite. It is not permitted to photograph the nuns.
