    A bus adventure from Paraguay

    Checkpoint culture

The bus ride from Asuncion to Corrientes has a treasure of unforgettable experiences. First, your expectations for a Paraguayan
bus are dashed, especially if you have been on the Foz de Iguassu
    - Asuncion
section. On top of the much less comfortable seats and the much filthier atmosphere, you get to experience some cross border action.
The bus was filled with fledgling businessmen and women shuffling and reshuffling their luggage prior to arrival at the border. After passing through all the formalities and stamping of the travel documents you are ready to enjoy your new country. Wait a moment! Between the border and Corrientes there were FOUR more checkpoints. Four more checks of the luggage with dogs, military police and all sorts of other exotic stuff. At least the price of the ticket was quite reasonable.
The company to avoid if possible is called PULQUE.
