La Rioja, situated at the border of the impressive Sierra del Valesco was founded in the 16the century and is the most southern place the incas explored on their search for gold.
The city is a nice base to start your journey to the Quebrada or National park Talampaya
Stroll around on the Plaza San Martin, visit the local Basilica, San Nicolas de Barros

From La Rioja to Salta by bus, by night
A 9 hour drive, hard because the road is not always in a perfect condition.
Five singles, two drivers and the guide had to share a bus with 16 seats.
But once in Salta and after a visit to the Talampaya canyon, you will forget this "nightmare"
