Plaza Independencia - perfect for nightlife by Trekki In the evening, Plaza Independencia stays alive until long after midnight. It is THE spot in Mendoza to watch any kind of performance. When I was there, there were some theatre performances, some live music, etc. But the best I ever saw was a group of schoolkids, who were performing capueira. Each one had a drum of different size, and they simply played - with all their heart and soul. (I never found out which school it was - but if you are in Mendoza, strolling around the plaza in the evening and hear drums - go and watch)
go as you like - it's the plaza :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Plaza Independencia

world famous Chrischa (sorry - but this must be :- by Trekki, 3 more photos Oh well, if you like good old guitar songs, such as Hotel California by the Eagles, and Cat Stevens songs, and all these other ones - you will be happy to listen to them once in a while when you stay at Casa Pueblo in Mendoza. There is a guitar in the house, and usually one of the guests will play. Once when I was there, Yoni (from NY, US) had his own guitar with him, and a stack of songs. We were sitting in the patio each evening and singing chorus :-) Still by now, when I listen to Father and Son by Cat Stevens, it's as if I am back there. Oh, by the way - we knew it was the next day when we heared Joni singing Morning has broken The pics now are from my trip in october 2005, luckily Chrischa (ha, VT member by now :-) and Felipe were there who could also play. They have teached Daniel - so you will encounter some nice life music :-) Update, July 18, 2007: with the youtube possibilities I have linked the two songs with videos of Eagles and Cat Stevens (each the original versions). Click on the links - and listen to the songs, then you'll get a better idea of how the atmosphere was (or can be) in Casa Pueblo :-)
No dress code at all :-) Some even sit there enjoying music in their japanese yucata.... :-) Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Pelegrini 377, GuaymallenPhone: +54 - 261 - 4324976Directions: 3 blocks away from the main bus terminal in MendozaWebsite: http://www.casapueblohostel.com/

They have a greatly designed place and its super confortable. Its like a garage without roof full of "living rooms" setted for you to enjoy the summer nights in Mendoza Just great!

by Gaspar&Floppy This is the Beer Street of Mendoza . A continuation of Ave. Colon , Aristides (as its known to the locals) runs all the way up to the park and is crammed with pubs, bars, restaurants. Some are hip and trendy whilst others are just shops with seats outside. Go late. Best in the summer months. Theme: Eating and Drinking

A little messy but all in good fun by gringoft Apateco was a blast because it was big and open. However, if you weren’t there to dance then you better go elsewhere because not moving would cause you to get pushed out of the way. There was no time for slackers here.
As with most places in Mendoza there are no dress codes and you won’t see people wearing the latest fashions. A nice shirt and jeans is OK because you will get sweaty and maybe a few drinks might spill on you. It’s all part of the fun. There are a lot of place where you can go at night. I prefer dancing. There are some discos in 'Chacras', which is 15 Km from the center. Or you can also go to 'El Challao' which is 5 Km from the center. The nightlife start at 1:00 am and finish at 6:00. Leave a Comment Theme: Dancing

by Dicomo To drink and dance 'La Guanaca' is a good option. First you can have something for dinner, and at 2:00 starts the party.

La Gitana is one of the biggest discos in Mendoza. There are 3 different dancefloors inside and outside with a lot of bars. Most of the time they play spanish music. The funny thing is that there always has to be the same quantity of wimen and men. So sometimes you have to wait a bit to come in.
