Il Postino was highly recommended in our guidebook but we weren't too impressed with our meal here. We had very few bad meals in Argentina but Il Postino was definitely one. I ordered lomo (steak) with chips and vegetables and, while the lomo was adequate, the vegetables were cold and felt like leftovers from someone else's meal. The prices weren't too bad and the restaurant was very busy, so perhaps we just picked a bad night.

There's not a big choice on the menu in El Portal, but what they do offer is very tasty and very good value. It was very busy when we visited at lunchhour, with most of the clients looking like locals to us. El Portal specialises in local dishes but we'd had our fill of empanadas, humitas and tamales, so we opted for milanesas. Probably about the 30th milanese we've had in the past 2 months but still delicious.

This restaurant has a very special ambience, it is like a mix between an old tavern of spain with a bit of "country air", once a month there are thematic nights, with special dishes related with the main theme. It is situated in the center of San Miguel a few metres of the comercial center. In thematic nigths i recommend to make a reservation.
Favorite Dish: I recommend the pork with cherry and red fruits salse. It is a very sweet dish but with a good wine you can´t stop eating!. It costs about 7U$s.

The food is good but not varied and the service is very satisfactory. The most oustanding feature is the nice, simple ambience, and the music: opera and live music with a pianist. Reservation advised if you want to go after 10pm.
Favorite Dish: I've been there only once and I had meat wok (wok de carne) which was really good.

Despite its name in English, it's not a place where you'll listen to soul music. It's a mixture between a cafe, a restaurant and a cultural center inside a colonial house where you can see and buy native art apart from enjoying good food in a quite nice atmosphere. The patio and its terraces are the best places to enjoy this restaurant specially at night and when the weather is OK.
Favorite Dish: I recommend "Pollo a la Yokavil" (Yokavil chicken), but most dishes are good.

One of the best restaurants in Tucuman.
I suggest you make a reservation, specially on weekends.
Remember: in Argentina, supper is about 9:00pm or later so if you show up earlier, restaurants may still be closed.
Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is "Picana" or "Faldita" which is pure meat (no veins, no fat). Try it. You won't be dissapointed.

The menu is not quite varied, but the food is excellent, specially the beef and the empanadas. Decoration is simple but elegant, with floor-to-ceiling windows through which you can enjoy the green areas of the park. Sunny, warm days are an excellent occasion to enjoy the tables outdoors.

Theme restaurant devoted to a national popular passion: Soccer. The food is OK and the service acceptable. You can watch soccer games on the TVs or large screens located all around.
