If you're out driving around the penninsula there are basically only two options for getting food and drink:
Punta Delgada, this is principally a hotel but they will feed outside guests. Their operating hours are limited and it requires driving down a small road off the 'main' highway 2.
Further down, at Punta Cantor you'll find Parador La Elvira, which is right along the main road and is whre you would park anyway to walk down to the sea elepants' overlook. There is also a small gift shop.
The food here is served cafeteria-style and you pay a set price for each item, which is marked. The good thing is you serve yourself and can make the portion as large as you can fit on the plate/bowl(with the exception of the grilled meat). So one person can get a salad and lamb, another can get chicken and veggies, etc and then you can share the portions among yourselves. In this way, although the prices are a little steep, eating here works out to be a little more reasonable. Of course the main draw here is the patagonian lamb, roasted over the open wood fire.
Open all day, the restaurant offers the most delicious and varied dishes based on fresh products from the area, such as seafood and fish, but also lamb, pasta and naturist homemade dishes accompanied by a wide range of wines from a well assorted cellar.
Favorite Dish: Mixed Seafood Salad (Octopus, Fish, mussels, tomatoes, onions, green peppers etc etc)
Grilled fish named "Cuskeel" All entrees , prime plates and desserts, as far as I`ve seen, absolutely Yummmmmy !
This cafe-bar-restaurant has an old fashion style, almost a 60's hippie style, with wooden tables and chairs, the walls full of pics, posters, handcrafts, marine ropes, fishing nets, flags of different countries, candles, hand written letters, etc. The construction is in the old english architecture, so spreaded in the patagonia during last years of XIX century and the dawn of the XX.
The attention is good, a bit laid back as a first impression, but when you catch the spirit then you know that everythings are a product of the relaxed atmosphera. I really feel good in there, and the food is always fresh and tasty, made with care and love for the kitchen arts.
Favorite Dish: Seafoods, always, tasty, fresh, well prepared.
This restaurant is located at Puerto Piramide, I told you something about that in the accomodations page, in fact belongs to the Paradise Hostal, or the opposite.
Close to the beach, nice view, simple and rustical ambiance, here the seafoods are the main course. There are not sophisticated recipes neither nouvelle cuisine. Simply good tasty seafoods.
Favorite Dish: Salpicon de Mariscos, generous, delicious.
his small restaurant has a small window near the roof, where are aligned some ancient bottles (made of glass, metal, pottery...) and the light gives them a special touch.
Este pequeño restaurante tiene una ventanita cerca del techo en donde sea linean varias botellas (de vidrio, metal, barro..) y la luz les da un toque especial.
This small place (all the restaurants at Puerto Pirámides are small) has a great decoration: its furniture, curtains, ornaments, everything, it is unique and special; the picture shows one of the walls.

El refugio (The Shelter) is a small and cosy restaurant, with a great decoration (local handicrafts, ancient furniture and other stuff), that gives it a special atmosphere.
El Refugio es un restaurante pequeño y acogedor, decorado estupendamente con artesanías locales, muebles y otros objetos antiguos, que le dan una atmósfera especial.
Favorite Dish: It was a sunny but coooold afternoon, after a rainy but very very very coooooooooold morning (whale-watching included), so my friends and I were looking for a place to drink anything hot. We had "submarino": a cup of hot milk with a generous piece of plain chocolate that melts slowly...
