    Chochin waterfall

Once you get to Hua Hum, you'll be able to hike through the beautiful Hua Hum park. This park is is next to the lake, surrounded by oak and coigue trees and beautiful scenery. At the end of the trail (approximately 20-25 minutes), you'll get to the Chochin Waterfall. It's not huge nor tall, but it is beautiful. The surroundings help make the waterfall just perfect.

    Playa Escondida

On the way to Hua Hum, you'll encounter Playa Escondida (Hidden Beach). The Lacar lake in particular doesn't have many beaches. The mountains go deep into the water very abruptly, leaving no chance for beaches. Anyhow, there are some beaches, and Playa Escondida is one of them.

    Lacar Lake

The Lakar lake is the lake that you can see from San Martin. Is a big lake and quite cold. It's also the first lake of the 7-lake route. I you want to see it from above, take the route to the top, from the costanera to your left. Once you arrive at the old hotel, turn right, and continue your trail. You'll encounter beautiful spots from where you'll have an amazing view.

    Esculturas de madera

San Martín de los Andes is a very charming and "walkable" town: nice houses, beautiful gardens, surrounded by an awesome landscape, invite to walk along its streets. I found these interesting sculptures made of wood in a garden; I do not know if it was a public exhibition or a private collection, but I liked them, so I took the picture.

The deers are the symbol of San Martín de los Andes, but you will not find deers walking along the streets: I am talking about this monument, situated at the lakeside.
Another place you can find these nice animals is any restaurant: deer is one of the most typical dishes here!

San Martín de los Andes, as many other towns of Neuquén and Río Negro, has a typical architecture, which has very important influences of European architecture, especially from Switzerland, Germany and Austria; stone and wood are the "vedettes" in these buildings.
