First time I visited this museum I couldn't believe what my eyes were looking at.
In our visit last january I was surprised again, because the great improvement and original pieces displayed about the last discoveries.
Of course the Superstar is the "Giganotosaurio Carolinii" , a thrilling predator similar to the ultrafamous cinematographic T-Rex, but much taller (5,5 mts), longer (16 mts), and heavier (10 tons) than the hollywood fave monster (a funny anecdota about that coming soon on my travelogue "The Fight").

Inside the Museum Ernesto Bachmann there are a veeery special place, perhaps the better place of the whole museum.
This place is a closed patio filled with sand of the desert where the children can get the experience of a real palaeo explorer.
Before the childs coming in to the patio (where previosuly were buried randomly bones of cow and lamb) the kid are dressed with the special explorers jackets and equipped with searching tools like the real ones.
You can't believe the face of the kids when they find a bone... so, feeding the spirit, indeed.
Before they leave the Museum each child receives a diploma extended by the "authority" giving them the status of "Official Rookie Explorer".
More great smiles. Unforgettable.

The Limay river is the divisory line between the province of Neuquen and the province of Rio Negro, of course if you're in the Villa El Chocón and cross the river using the dam road you will be in Rio Negro looking the absolute solitude of the patagonic steppe.
The pebbles roads are rough and dangerous if you drive laid back so be careful, then if you follow the shoreline of the lake you'll be surprised by the wild geography of "Los Gigantes".
It is a geological formation emerging from the bottom of the Lake Ramos Mexia (the former canyon of the Limay river), well worth a visit despite the bad paths.
Take a look on the Travelogue "Los Gigantes"

The water sports are very popular in El Chocón, the shore is accessable, have facilities and is located at less of one hour from the capitol city, so, on spring-summer weekends a lot of "sailors" and "captains" ride their boats through this large lake.
Bu, know what, you can do something despite don't get a boat... fishing from the shoreline. Thousand of places to do it, and the variety are trouts (rainbow, brown, triploide) or salmon, or perchs, pejerrey... Try, never fails.
