Getting to this small, but at the same time nice city. The only way is by bus.
you can get from la paz (3hours), from Cochabamba (4hours).
From Potosi (6hours). So, as you can see all the choices to get here is by bus. But don`t worry to much, the roads to Oruro are paviment, besides the buses are confortable.

only some advices:
pay around 5 to 8 bolivianos to get almost everywhere in Oruro.
Make the price before starting.
Keep cool, in Oruro they drive like everywhere in southamerica ( quite wild) but they think a bit more slowly....but all of them do like that :-) so nothing happens..... it´s a bit joke, but the high altitude and less oxigene makes them sometimes react a bit slow, that´s really the truth....

Next to the high hotel building (in the photo on the right side) is placed the bus terminal of Oruro. You can reserve here bus transports to all big cities in Bolivia like La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, Potosi, Sucre or as well Uyuni (not big, but touristical very interesant)
