Sumaj Orcko: Try to eat Llamaýs meat
You know when you are outside of your country you always want to try different food or something. so this restaurant offers you that. their especiality is llama?s meat. so i really recommend you to try it. Recently after doing some studies, the doctor tell that is better to it llama`s meat than cow`s meat because it has less colestherol.
Favorite Dish: Indeed llama?s meat. it?s really delicious and it?s very important to eat in Potosi, because there are many llamas around.

Dona Eugenia: Traditional Soup with a Hot Rock
I had read about this Potosi restaurant in the Rough Guide and wanted to try it (I had forgotten that it was Richiecdisc's favorite restaurant in Bolivia). I tried to walk to it the first evening (see below) but did not make it, so I asked to have lunch there on the tour the next day. The guide was surprised when I knew about it. BTW, Roberto Mendez was a great guide. He is a former miner and really knows his way around. That is him in the picture. See my General Tips for more about Roberto. See also Richiecdisc's General Tips on Potosi for good stories about Dona Eugenia.
Favorite Dish: You can get the traditional maize soup, kala phurka, served with a hot rock in it to make it bubbling hot. There are sides of Inka hominy and red chile with it. All for 5 Bs.

Fricaseria Dona Eugenia: a place where locals meet and eat
A simple local's restaurant that serves up delicacies of the region. It is informal with long communal tables and packed with people enjoying the great food and the company of those around them. It's really buzzing!
Favorite Dish: The short menu is displayed on a chalkboard and though limited, it is full of local items not found just everywhere. Try the K' alahurka, a thick spicy soup with chiccarones that comes to the table positively bubbling due to a heated lava stone in the earthen bowl. The chocko was a huge pork steak smothered in raw onions and fresh cilantro. The namesake meal is fricasee, another stew like meal full of chunks of fatty pork (not for the faint of heart!)
food stalls: snack around!
Some of the tastiest and certainly cheapest food can be found in the local stalls on the street and local market.
Favorite Dish: You name it, from baby beef heart kebabs to these tasty donut-like deep fried dough snacks, smothered in honey.
Dona Eugenia: Outside of Dona Eugenia
It is a long walk to Dona Eugenia from downtown Potosi. It is located out by the cemetery. I tried to walk from the Hotel Claudia the first evening I was in Potosi but gave up after 10 min. because I was not sure I was going the right way. I even asked several people, including a policeman. Most had not heard of it and my Spanish was not good enough to understand the one person I found who did know where it was. Turned out I was going the right way and just needed to walk 5 more minutes.
