The salt lake in uyuni is gleat place in Bolivia. The sight is marvelous. It seems to be an another world. We took part in the tour from Uyuni to North chile. We also saw Laguna Colorada(red lake) and Laguna Verde(green lake). They were so great. The region of Uyuni is inconvenient but it is worth to go.

Bolivia is a beautiful country with very nice people. I have being to different parts of the country and Santa Cruz is definitely my favorite city (It is great!), but the rest of Bolivia is very nice as well. Bolivia is very diverse, it has all sorts of climates and the people are extremely different from the Andes to Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz tends to be much more diverse and cosmopolitan, is kind of a little bit of all of the country and the world together (It is very edgy, with very friendly outgoing people), the countryside is wild. La Paz is exactly what you expect of Bolivia, very homogeneous (almost everybody is indigenous), it preserves a lot of old traditions, there are nice markets and the lake Titikaka is breathtaking. Potosi and Sucre are also worth seeing (great colonial architecture). I specially recommend the Amboro National Park, Samaipata and Lake Titikaka. In the map below...

I think that the principal reason most people come to Bolivia for are Lake Titicaca and second to that, the ruins. There is also the upper reaches of the Amazon for the very hardy.
