Although too young to remember I have been told that the night life in Santa Cruz is amazing....Equipetrol (not sure of that spelling) is like the equivalent of the 'Grove'in Miami! :) Like in most Spanish countries, you will find that most people take great care and value much their appearance. Although, you might fit right in wearing a pair of 'jeans' and a t-shirt the culture is such that you are taught to always go out looking 'your best'....I would rate dress code to be 'casual-dressy'. If going to night clubs or special dinner dates you are bound to find very elegantly dress people.

Night life is so essential in the lives of the Cambas. It may vary night to night from vecino's parties (neigbourhood parties) to going dancing to nice clubs. Music varies as well in many of these places, from Salsa to rock!!Some of the places I liked to go were: Auto Mania, El Tunnel, El otro lado, and more places like Lito Bar.I liked el Tunnel, mostly because its so big, and the best bands in Santa Cruz play there. You can get a lot of Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, some Zeppelin as well. Our best guitarrist plays there, Glen Vargas. The placed used to be an old cinema, so then they reconstructed it into a huge club.In Lito Bar you get a lot of really cheap beer. One of my favorites in fact is Ducal Draft Beer! Enviroment is friendly, gypsy like.If you feel like dressing up, go to Auto Mania, normally a hang out for some models and the local crowd. Since the weather is quite hot compared...

Usually it started at the Prado, where you can meet a lot of people. Plus, its so cold you can't stop walking and the Prado is so short, so you are just walking and talking and bumping into all the friends. There are plenty of bars and clubs, one of the best clubs is Forum, another pub is Equinoccio.Equinoccio oftenly has great live bands playing. Like the range of Octavia, Lukas.Forum, an elegant club, good music, expensive drinks. Dress formal.

The best spot in Cochabamba es Calle Espana. You have a whole street full of the best coffee shops and bars in town. Try Metropolis first and go up try all the bars and styles the street offers. You can not miss it, since all the young and interesting people hang out in the area from 8:00 til late nights. For every taste. You feel free and dress as you wish. Since there is so much variety, you can be yourself and fit where you want and like most.

La Paz; late night bar - 'Wakey's'; not publicised - so find out from a local or other backpackers how to get there. Check out the dedications on the walls and add your own. Good to finish off a big night.

Las Peñas en La Paz.: Las Peñas en La Paz.

by cronopio74

Perhaps I wasnt in mood. but I came in one of this Peña and I find it little bored. Well, there are very good musicians, and the place may result funny. But, is little expensive. There are lots of places, the best are near the Iglesis de San Francisco.Ahh No estaba de humor cuando fui a una de estas Peñas. Así es que me emborraché. La música es buena, y el ambiente padre, pero es caro. normal

We enjoy going to places that show local folklore. This way we can learn a bit more about the people which in turn will make our holiday a bit better.
