" SALTO DO ITIQUIRA" WATERFALL

by janaina

It's the biggest waterfall acessible for swimming in Brazil, with 168mts.In the place,a real tourist infra-structure waiting for you. Here you can find members of foreigners embassies coming for weekends from Brasilia with their families!During the rain season, even 30mts from the waterfall, you get completely wet,the drops are so delicate one realize he's wet only later!!Going up to the waterfall roots, from the river,is a long and dificult treck, what takes about 2 hrs. This treck up is only pemitted up to 15:30,avoiding unexperienced tourists of being catch in the middle by the dark!!The park area is very clean and preserved,it's forbiden to enter with food or drinks, pls take care of sliping here, the rocks around the trecks are frequently wet!

"POCO AZUL" CASCADE

by janaina

It has a serie of 5 cascades, the biggest one with about 15mts.You can try here the "Rapel",or dive in the submerged grotto, just remember as I mentioned once in another page, diving into submerged grottos is dificult and dangerous, none will stop you here, but you must know experience is the key for this kind of diving,ok?!The blue collor waters have a extremely beauty you can just apreciate it if you don't like extreme sports!!

"DO TORORO" CASCADE

by janaina

This treck is much dificult, take a good pair of shoes, the way is rocky and geologically acidented, the place has none or almost none contact with civilization. The cascade has 18mts of clean waters, about 35km from Brasilia's city center. The treck is also a long one,I wouldn't recomend it for kids, take your best shoes and not a heavy backpack. For preserving the place as I described,ALL kinds of sports are forbiden here!Don't just walk thru the treck and than jump in the water, but, with a little inspiration, you will find in tons here, take a look at the landscape around, how the trees "closed" the area around the cascade that sun rays almost don't touch the water. As much as you walk away from the cascade, the place gets more and more isolated, the only thing you find here and there are couples..who needs some quite time I guess :0))

THE ENDLESS CASCADES

by janaina

The "Old Skirt" cascade:a very easy treck for all ages, you don't need to walk thru the dense forest or open your map all the time, the ways are pavemented, there's a nice restaurant in the area serving even a delicious bbq, clean showers, playground area, small cascades and natural pools.
