Casa Sapucaia: Haute cuisine in surfer's paradise
The "Casa Sapucaia" is a rather expensive, but more-than-worth-to-visit restaurant. It offers a mixture of eurasian food with a special unique flavour. The curry I tried was Indian-inspired, but still quite different from the common Indian dish. A great culinary experience.
The food is also presented in a very nice, stylish kind of way. You would not think you are in a coastal surfer town when you see it, but rather in a posh restaurant in a big city.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a beautiful inner yard with romantic decoration for a relaxed evening.
Favorite Dish: I had a curry which had such a special, delicious blend that I can still remember it two years after...

Never Have Enough of Delicious Acaraje
Every night the Baiana comes to the main little square - you can't miss it as it's the only square in Itacare. You find her there sitting under the tree. She brings everything with her to prepare delicious acaraje. Sometimes there is a little row but it's worth waiting a couple of minutes.
I have to admit... Quite often it happened that I even had two acarajes in the same night :))

Must try the bobo.
I can't think of the name, but ask any local where the best Bobo shrimp is and they will point you there. The restaraunt is off the main street, it faces the bay. Its at the end of the town, right before you go up a dirt hill..sorry!
But its run by a mom and her family. They live and cook out of the back. Its very clean. Some of the kids might be watchig a scooer game in the background, but who doesn't watch soccer in Brazil.
Favorite Dish: This whole town has great seafood. But she really knows how to make her Bobo. Its like a curry. You have to try it. Such a unique taste and so good!
