Don't make the mistake of going to Porto Seguro on a week long holiday. One week is just not enough. Go for at least two weeks. There are so many things worth seeing (see all my tips!).
Fondest memory: Its excellent beaches - and the fact that there are so many other things to do. It's a pity that my favourite restaurant in Porto Seguro (Portinho) does not exist here in Portugal!
Favorite thing: an example of one of hundreds great dishes that you can try in PS.this one served by the beach it's the one with more fondest memory from my travel to brasil. grilled fish, along wih a shrimp sauce and "pirão" ( i'll try to explain wath this is, on another tip ).
by now, almost everybody knows that BRASIL was discovered by the Portuguese, five hundred years ago. so, all over PS there references about that, and particulary a memorial, where a museum helds a lot of information about the arrival of the portuguese at PORTO SEGURO.
we can also visit a like wise sailing boat (caravela) where we can witness the dificulties of travelling by that time.
All along the brasilian coast
coconut water is well known as the most unforgiveble natural drink to try.
when on the beach, and thursty, a fresh coconut refreshes you.
and you can drink one after another...GREAT EXPERIENCE!
brasilian name for bus.
from the center of porto seguro you have a bus station with a bus passing
every 5 minutes for you to go and visit miles of beaches and other must see locations.
against guides tips, that could be dangerous and lack of security
i ve experienced none...
safe enough i garantie!
and no problem of getting lost because they are always keen to help... with a smile.
Favorite thing: You should try Suco de abacaxi in all the beaches and in the night.....before parties you should go to the Pasarela do Alcol for taking a lot of caipirinhas, capetas, and all you want! They are very creative and put really funny drink's names.
Favorite thing: I loved to stay in Cabralia instead of the center. The hotel ( Baia Cabralia) had a bus which went every night to the center after the dinner and they organised day excursions too. I took the regular boat to Santo Andre and it was great. Many interesting beaches to see. Cabralia is a small town but has everything you need.
those lazer entertainments are popular during the day (for relax and music) and for the night for life concert , show and dance
