At night there are plenty of street vendors at Ponta Verde beach sidewalk, where you can taste the really worth "TAPIOCA" filled with cheese and bacon (queijo/presunto), banana (banana) and of course the unique "carne de sol"!
    VEEEEEEEERY TAAAAAAASTY!

Favorite Dish: The TAPIOCA I liked most was the one filled with "CARNE DE SOL"! :-)

Restaurants and bars along Massagueira-lake: Freshest and cheapest Seefood

by mangueirense Written Jan 5, 2003

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There is a little village called "Massagueira" where you can have very fresh and tasty seafoods! And besides it is a very calm and beautiful place where there are not too much tourists!
It is 15 kms outside of Maceio, but really worth a visit, 'cause it is one of the cheapest and fresh see foods you can get in Brazil!

Have a look at this page:
    http://www.massagueiraonline.hpg.ig.com.br

If you are with a rented car take the south route AL-101 Sul, pass the Iland of Santa Rita, after the second bridge with entries at right and left side.

If you want to take a van there, enter at the corner of TIM building at Av. Duque de Caxias- Centre of Maceio.

Favorite Dish: Have a look at the wonderful exotical names of the dishes :-)

Bar do Pato: Seafood Along the Lagoon

by DSwede Written Jul 14, 2013
    Fried shrimp along the lagoon

Bar do Pato (literally "Duck Bar") is an open air restaurant with a covered patio directly on the edge of the Manguaba lagoon. From what I saw and what I'm told, it is particularly popular on the weekends for late afternoon lunches and dinners. During the time we were there, the place went from empty to full, to waiting room only. People come early, snack and drink the early hours and pass the evening with more and more food.

Favorite Dish: I've selected the 'local' type food theme, but that is rather a vague description here. The restaurant has various dishes from carne de sol, to duck marinated in beer, to fried fish, to assorted seafoods.

The seafoods are all good given the proximity to the fresh waters where the local fishermen make their trade.

Famiglia Giuliano: Faboulous Italian food in great atmosphere

by geirto Written Sep 20, 2002

A very good restaurant, but with reasonable prices. The atmosphere was very nice (medieval stylish), excellent waiters and excellent food. My best restaurant-experience in Brazil ever.

Favorite Dish: Well I've only been there once, but we were 6 people and everybody loved their dish, so I guess you can just pick the dish that you fancy the most.
