It is important to say that this page is for São Tomé das Letras, a exotic little town nailed in the top of a giant rock, a big single rock.
Coming by the road, seeing the town in top of that rock... I miss a picture of it!! Leave a Comment

by pjallittle Founded in 1897, today Belo Horizonte is Brazil’s third largest city and an important industrial center. The city’s main tourist attraction is Pampulha, a planned neighborhood surrounding a man-made lake and graced by an architectural complex designed by world famous Oscar Niemeyer. It is one of the principal success stories of contemporary Brazilian architecture. The complex is basically composed of the Saint Francis of Assisi Church, the Casa do Baile (an elegant ballroom), the Yacht Club and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The city enjoys a lively cultural calendar, especially at the Palácio das Artes (a multi-theater performing arts center). Night life is also lively and the Savassi district offers many entertainment opportunities at its nightclubs, bars and restaurants.

Walk in the the Praca de Liberdade (pictured above) This is a very nice area of Belo Horizonte lined with very tall palm trees. At the end of this park is the Palacio da Liberdade,a French style mansion.
The friendly people of Belo Horizonte. I made a few friends there, just by hanging around the pubs in Savassi. Leave a Comment
