Please no Indiana Jones wanna-bes!
Please respect the guides and the environment by not shouting or being rowdy...this scares off the animals and ruins the experience for others. Listen to the guides...don't try and think you're Indiana Jones and go off on your own.
From my experience, there were quite a few people who weren't interested in hearing/learning about the Pantanal and the way of life. They just wanted some cool experiences and photos so they can brag to others how they roughed it out in the wilderness...have a little more common sense then that please!
Tuiuiu or Jaburu,is the symbol of Pantanal.
It's a big bird who build its nest high from the soil,in big trees.
Its a bit noisy, you cannot ignore it,specially,as locals told,in the "romance" periods!
It eats small insects, clams and small fishes at the swamps.
THE MIX OF CULTURES
The music and language in the area is an influence of the most first inhabitants, brazilian and paraguaian indians, africans.
Pantanal is a world of tales and myths, running across the thousand kilometers, and showing the misteries in the local music, indian's rythims and cults, together with the PEOES ( the countrymen ) culture.
