Restaurante Divino Sabor in my opinion is one of the best in Tiradentes. It's a self service restaurant where you pay by the kilo. There is a great variety of delicious local dishes, meat, fish or vegetables, a large choice of salads, sweets and of course the delicious barbecued meat to complete the picture ! The prices are good for the standard of the town. It's about 18R$ (8$US) a kilo.
Because it's very popular it is usually full so you should go in good time before you starve waiting for a table.
I like the sausages - "linguica/salsicha" in Portuguese.!!!

Panela de Minas: Don't miss the food "Mineira!"

This restaurant was by far the best traditional "Minas" food I had while I was in Brasil. Everyday, they have a self service buffet, and you pay by the weight on your plate. The variety of food is enormous. It is served in soap stone pots, which is very common in this region of Minas Gerais. The food is kept warm by a wood fire stove. Their feijoada was awesome! If you are in Tiradentes and love traditional Brazilian food, you have to try "Panela de Minas.

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish was their "Feijoada" This is a black bean stew, which cooks slowly all day with various types of meats and seasonings. You cannot travel to Brasil without having a great "Feijoada!"
