They will even follow you around and are very perssistant, seems that if they don-t recognice the word No.
Threre will approach you people official guides, they wear a Blue and yellow polo shirt and will show you their card. it can also approach you some people dressing thir own cloths showing you a card and saying they are also official guides, and there can be people approaching you not showing anny card not saying they are official guides and offering their guide services. all the inhabitants seems to be guides even kids.
If you dont take their services you will not see many of the churches and even they will try you not to visit some of them. I was at the entrance of monasterio of Sain Pedro and at the entrance of the church was a tour guide with those blue and yellow polo shirt explaining to his group something i tried t get inside and another blue and yellow guide told me to wait because there was too many people in the entrance. So I decided to get inside the entrance of the convent to see what was in there and I notice there was nothing, so I went out to see if the entrance was cleared and the church gate was closed and the group inside!!! so I couldn-t get inside
If you don-t want their service be friendly on rejecting them they will be less persistance, just after a few Nao Preciso guia and a smile on your face and they will let you go, they will explane the great importance of visiting the city with them because they will give you lot-s of interesting information, ttrying to sell themselfs.
Its you option o take their service or not but for people that wants to be more indeppendent and want to be by their own is very tiring and frustrating
