Favorite thing: If you didn't try guarana yet, you must to! Is the exotic flavor that makes guarana sodas so interesting. The best brands deliver a fruity taste, aren't overloaded with sugar, and have a pleasant aftertaste.

Favorite thing: For a better understanding of the island, you really have to prepared your legs and explore the big number of trails in the island, and you can come across with incredible landscapes, just like this one at Praia Mole. if you look well, you will see my franch canadian friend Pierre walking in the enormous dunes of Mole!
Florianópolis is more than a destination, it is a place in Heavens!:)

Favorite thing: I finally reached Calhetas beach which for my surprise is a nude ebach and one of the ebst beaches in the island for surfers...Good combination I guess, nude people and surfers, hahahaa :) But I have seen no nude surfers! They belong to separated tribes. I surrendered the tempetation of swimming just like the indians used to do all over brazilian coast some hundred years ago, and I enjoyed myself in the water, not only in the sea, but in the little river springs too!
Anyway, I love climbing up rocks, and in one of my walkings I came across with a big nose, immediately I though it was a french one!
But no doubt it is a nose...do you agree????

Favorite thing: Florianopolis is the capital of the bewildering State of Santa Catarina, when we think about a State Capital we think about a huge city, full of buildings and very busy...well you will get surprised, almost the whole island is absolutely surrounded by wild nature, some beaches like Mole, Calhetas or Mozambique are left exactly like the first portuguese colonizers saw them for the first time, and you can hear lots of pirates stories, the trails used by indians and explorers are still there!
Being in Florianopolis is like reaching a new land...It is like seeing brazil when it was not Brasil!
Florianopolis is a blessing island!
I have been there and I wish to go back as soon as possible!;)

Favorite thing: At the south of the Island we went to a bar to eat all different kinds of shellfish, something that abounds here. To get there we figured out that we needed to drive on the beach since the roads just stop sometimes.
Once inside we also noticed that there where millions of little notes left behind by visiters pinned to the walls. Some where almost 70 years old.

Favorite thing: Most of the Brazilian windsurf champions come from this club. Just like in Rio people leave their windsurf equipment rigged here at the windsurf center on the lake. Launching is from just accross the street or people drive to one of the many beaches for wave sailing.

Favorite thing: This is a view from the bar I wanted to hang out at. The walls around of the lake rise quickly and there are a few get-away homes around. Some people live in the city and own a little lake house here even though it's only about half an hour away.

Favorite thing: Florianopolis is connected to the rest of the state by a bridge. The original one(called Hercilio Luz)was closed to traffic due to restauration for a long time, today i heard it is open only for pedestrians(sorry if i'm wrong or not updated!!),but there is the new(not so new..)bridge,build to help the traffic in the hard hours, and during the old bridge restauration, the only way to go in and out of the island!
a picture of the old bridge followed by the new one..
