As i said in my intro, during the four weekends of September Atibaia presents its Strawberries and flower fair. There you will be able to dance Japanese music, eat strawberries and chocolate spetos or enjoy a beautiful exposition of flowers. Have a look at these pictures

One of the main attractions in Atibaia would be to go to Pedra grande. This is the highest point (1660 m) in the whole area and, therefore, the views are amazing. Choose a clear day and you could even get to see Sao Paulo.

Another suggestion is to consider the car you would use to go up. Small cars are good as well as jeeps. The road is very very steep and not every car can go up (mine could not and had to stop and carry on by foot)

Do not leave atibaia without going up to Pedra grande. It's worth it

20km/12.5mi from Atibaia, in the Serra do Itapetinga nature reserve, is the Pico da Pedra Grande (1450m/4755ft), the highest peak in the commune. From the summit of the hill there are fantastic views over the six neighboring communes, and in recent years it has become popular with hang-gliding enthusiasts. It can be reached on the Pedro I Motorway (km61/mi40).

PS: Be careful.Driving up there can become very steep. Make sure you know how to drive manual transmission . Try renting a jeep if possible.
