Panoramic view from the road.

Roads to Campos do Jordao are quite good so a trip from Sao Paulo can be made in 2, 5 hours by car.

During the road trip there are some observation decks where you can take amazing pictures, like this.

Around Campos do Jordão

Although Campos do Jordão is a small city (36.000 inhabitants), the main attractions are very spread all around the town and some of them are outside it.

It won´t be a problem if you are driving a car but if you´re not...

The best option is to find touristic tours that will take you to the places you wanna visit. I don´t recommend local buses. You can easily get lost and maybe even robbed...

If you want to try a bus...

If you don´t have a car, the best option to get to Campos do Jordão is by bus.

There are many departures from São Paulo and the journey will last probably 2 or 3 hours.

The bus journey is very safe so you don´t have to be worried about it...

Streetcar approaching tourist park station

Campos do Jordão is at the end of a railway line that passes through the highest point on the railway network in Brasil. It serves the city of Campos do Jordão as well as connecting it with Pindamonhangaba, as well as Reino das Aguas Claras, which is a resort park of sorts lower down in the mountains.

Streetcars operate on the line from time to time linking places inside Campos do Jordão.

See my Campos do Jordão introduction page for other photos and links to other pages with information.

How to get there? By car...

The best way to get to Campos do Jordão (just like to almost every city in Brazil) is by car. The roads from São Paulo (167km) and Rio de Janeiro (303km) are good and the signs are also very clear.
