You can have lunch at a variety of inns and restaurants.
Trout and shiitake mushrooms are an ever present possible ingredients.
For eating and looking at the mountains simultaneously you can go to estalagemshambala.com.br, just 1 km from town.
Budget lunch is also a tasty possibility at several local restaurants in town.
If you want to eat well, at a reasonable price, say 30 Dollars and after or before lunch visit the most beautiful string of small waterfalls in town, you can go to Pousada Vale das Cahoeiras. The drawback is it is 13 km away from town. But it is worth the 30 minutes contryside trip. On your way you will find the biggest local waterfall.

Cunha has 16 studios that create and produce unique ceramic objects. Each artist has his/her own style and approach, some more functional or traditional, some more experimental or sculptural. The studios are open for the purchase of many kinds of pieces, for workshops or just for an exchange of views with the potter/sculptors. Cunha is the most important center of high fired Noborigama (klimbing kiln) ceramics in Brazil and probably South America.
Cunha is also an interesting destination for eco-tourism and gastronomy, its climate considered to be one of the best of the world, sub-tropical-mountain, mild, dry winters and tempered summers.
For staying in Cunha you can find a string of very friendly, family-style pousadas, with all amenities.

Pottery is and Old Tradition in Cunha, and some Old Ladies still Produce Pots and Pans.
In 1975 High Temperature Noborigama Oven was Built. In Japanese, Nobori is like Climb or Rise. And Kama is Oven. That´s because the Ovens are Positioned Over Stairs.
I Visited Various Artists (http://cunhaceramica.info/):
Suenaga & Jardineiro (http://www.ateliesj.com.br), is Very Traditional Japanese Style. I Loved the Cups, Teapots and Small Animals Scultpures. They are Prepared to Properly Pack Gifts with Colorful Metalized Packaging.
Mieko & Mario (http://www.miekoemario.cjb.net/) are also Japanese Style with some Modern Art Touch. Here Prices are Higher and Production more Limited.
Augusto and Leí (http://www.oficinadeceramica.hpg.ig.com.br/) are Very Colorful and Joy. They Prepared the Bowls used in the Pope´s Visit. Beautiful Vases and Great Cost/Benefit.
If you have the chance, visit the Oven Opening, with Brand New Pieces. Each Studio has its Scheduled Dates.

After 40 minutes to 1 hour of Steep Trek (2 Km Asphalt), Reach the Peak and Enjoy the Sea, the City and the Mountains.
I was lucky when I arrived around 11AM because 20 minutes later the Clouds were Hiding the View. Choose Shiny Days and be there around 9/10AM if possible.

You can choose Outside Tables, but in the Fall I Prefered to Stay Inside. Decoration is Kirsh with Saints Pictures or Pink Tiles giving a Warm and Joyful Atmosphere.
Favorite Dish: I Tried the Steak with Pinhao (Pine Tree Fruit) Quiche (French Pie), very Aromatic with Rosemary.
