Poor Presentation, Not worth it!! An individual plate...

  • The place in Guarujá!

It's a very good place, and if you go to Guarujá, you cannot miss Avelino's. Everybody goes there, and there's one branch in almost every beach. Everything is great!

Unfortunately, there's almost no nughtlife in Guarujá. People usually go to Avelino's (see restaurant tips), or go to the sidewalk by the beach. You can see people walking everywhere, and it's a good oportunity to have some ice-cream. But around midnight, people start going home... Anything casual and comfortable.

You can buy craft everywhere, from the city centre to the hidden beaches!

What to buy: You can buy all kinds of craft, made in Guarujá or in other regions of Brazil.

What to pay: The prices vary a lot!!! And never forget to bargain!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Don't forget your bathing clothes. They are the items you will use the most, for Guarujá has wonderful sandy beaches, with clear green water. Also, don't forget comfortable clothes. It seems nobody dresses up around there!!
Remember to pack some sandals and thongs, to walk around the place.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sun tan lotion!!!!!

Photo Equipment: It's important to include that in your list, for the secenery is great!

Miscellaneous: The umbrellas and chairs for the beach, you can get with the beach vendors, as long as you spend around US$6,00 at their stall.

    Pernambuco Beach

by RaquelMac Written Mar 23, 2003

Favorite thing: The water and the little islands near the shore are really great. Also, the life guards are very good at preventing water incidents. If you hear a whistle while you are in the water, and they are waving at you, it means you are going too deep into the sea, and you should come back.

Fondest memory: Having nothung to do, and not worrying with the clock. That was the best for me!
