There is an area for jetskiing, surfung, banana boats, all kinds of water sports, there is 22km of walking space, a massive shopping mall in Boqueirao, english schools, port of santos which is 10 km from praia grande.

I don´t know if FRESCOBOL is also played in other countries´ beaches, but it´s a traditional thing here in Brazil!!! At least in São Paulo...
Two people with rackets and a ball. The thing is: you don´t play against the other; you play it together. You can´t let the ball touch the floor.
It seems like an easy thing to do, but it´s not. Believe me.

Quiet and peaceful on ordinary days, crowded and alive on holidays, the shore sidewalk - surrounded by lovely coconut trees - is always a great place for a walk in the morning or in the end of the afternoon.
It was recently refurbished and its appearance has improved a lot from what it used to be.
There´s also a nice cycleway (have I just invented this word or does it actually exist???) for bikes that stretches for 22 km along the whole Praia Grande coast.
The avenue that appears on the pics is called Castello Branco (a former brazilian president).

Praia Grande´s beaches are definitely not the most beautiful you´ll ever see.
They´re large beaches (as the name of the city suggests!!!) with no particular attractions. But it´s a great place to relax on weekends if you´re tired of São Paulo. It can also be a very interesting day trip from there.
