    there she goes...again...

Fondest memory: *****Sure, everyone has their thoughts and images on the ethereal AMAZON sunsets, but how many take the time to enjoy a SAO PAULO sunset? Wellll, I can think of one other like-minded individual, genius really...it surely helps to have such a great viewing spot for the show, this 20th floor penthouse (!) but any of the city's billion-and-a-half highrise rooftops will do. Just get up there and look west...keeping an eye out for all those lowwww-flying and buzzing helicopters...aaaahhhh...*****

So close to the frantic city, and yet so far away!

a cool autumn stroll with a friend...

Fondest memory: You can clearly see Sao Paulo's highrise buildings all around you here, but PARQUE IBIRAPUERA is a fine refuge from the chaos. Just be careful when you stray from the winding paths themselves, as we noticed a number of gargantuan antmounds scattered about...which makes sense, I suppose, what with that mutant spider encased in the adjacent museum..

    29C and rising

Favorite thing: Come live a day in Brazil with me...

Fondest memory: A bright sunny sunday here in Brazil,
ten thousand Brazilians driving to the seaside,a thousand will sit in a shade drinking a cold drink, hundreeds of mobile phones will ring, buses fills up so does restaurants fills and empties again and again, planes takes off from the city airport, dogs rests in the deep shade of the Brazilian trees, temperatures are still climbing rapidly,I walk in the shaded side of the street.
a hundreed thousand girls take showers and put on their summer dresses and makeups,do their hairs prettily and go out , a hundreed thousand and more boys look on wishfully , the temperature is reading at 29 degrees centigrade and climbing,I walk in a cafe and order a suco (drink) any drink as long as it is cold.
Now the temperature is reading 30C, buses growls past full of happy people, the Ibirapuera park is also full of Brazilians, some jogging some pretending to jog and some are just watching each other,I sit at a deep shade of a mango tree, the temperature is reading 31C...
A thousand Brazilians light their cigarettes.
Ten thousand brazilians sip their Guaranas.
Another thousand order a pastel carne(meat pastie)
I join in after all I concider myself a Brazilian by now.

Favorite thing: Despite being an ocean of concrete, São Paulo is filled with majestic trees and large green spaces. Many of its streets, particularly in the Jardins district, are lined with trees. When I visited in early January, São Paulo was abundant with tropical trees blossoming with flowers of various colours. Attached are photos showing examples of such trees. I wish I knew the names...

Favorite thing: A good place to visit is the 'Pico do Jaragua', over there you can have a great view of the city. And, of course, you need to go to the beach, they're not so far from São Paulo's city. We have wonderful beachs at the north.

Fondest memory: The best thing, is here you can find everything you want, and you don't need to go so far to find it.

Fondest memory: The picture above is from Ibirapuera Park with an area of 1.6 million m2, this is one of the most visited park of São Paulo. It is the result of one of the first great projects of the brazilian architect Oscar Neimeyer and the landscapist Burle Marx, Ibirapuera exceeds the concept of a mere park. There, it is installed the building of 'Bienal' and the Data Processing Company of São Paulo City (PRODAM), in addition to Planetarium, Obelisco, Monumento das Bandeiras, The Folklore Museum and the Museum of Aeronautics.
The park is intersected by paved streets and gathers four lakes interchanged by channels, cooper tracks, multi-sports courts, dog training, snack bars, playgrounds and areas of infantile recreation. There is still a large arboretum and a Japanese pavillion, with a replic of the Imperial palace of Kyoto. In addition to leisure equipment, Ibirapuera park counts on a first-aid ambulatory and public telephones.

In the park one can find the Bienal Building, the Planetarium , the gymnasium, Creche Museum, Aeronautic and Folklore Museums, the Obelisk to the heroes of 32 and the Bandeiras monument (explorer's monument). It is considered one of the most important green areas of the city, Ibirapuera Park was inaugurated with the celebrations for the IV Centenarium of the city in 1954.

Favorite thing: Sao Paulo may be a very rural city, but as a state in general it has much to offer. You may want to visit the shore and the small cities like Sao Jose dos Campos and Campos do Jordao.

Fondest memory: The Sunsets and my friends, I haven't been there in years but my friends will forever live in my heart.
