Rafael in Paulista Avenue by PV

This is the best way to understand how nervous São Paulo is; it is the biggest city in Latin America. The restaurants in this avenue are really great. It is nice to walk in the avenue during the lunch time, you see all kind of people!

The Avenue is served by 4 metro station, but the bisiest ones are Paraiso and Consolação!

    The Tallest Building

by Sharrie Updated Jul 21, 2003

I did Sao Paolo city tour all in an afternoon. Although it looks very impressive from the air, it's not so from the land.

As with any other cities in the world, it has the tallest building. But here, (& I hardly say this in my travels), is a city which is full of people but when it comes to architectural delights, it falls far far behind the rest of the world. It's like visiting "ruins"... only these are still in use & people still live in them. Even in photos, they appear so much nicer.

All I can say is, here I see concrete... not architecture. :-(

There are buildings, & there are buildings...

Why am I taking photos of such "misery"?
To remind me of what I've taken for granted...

Did you watch the Spielberg's movie "Artificial Intelligence: AI"? I see a correlation here & there somewhat...

Shopping – I found that shopping in Sao Paulo was really great. I visited two shopping centers/ malls that I particularly enjoyed – Iguatemi (pictured) and Jardim Sul. These malls featured international stores (Gucci, Clinique) as well as local stores with local treasures. Prices were compatible with American prices. I would recommend taking home some leather products – shoes and purses, ladies – as I saw some beautiful products at reasonable prices!

Go up the BANESPA-Bldg and enjoy the view over SP!
This place gives you probably the best view over the city.

Sao Paulo is mainly a business destination, and the city have no natural attractions, but close the city have many parks, beaches, mountain and outdoor activities.
