Another very nice place in São Paulo is a real escape from the nervous city of São Paulo, I specially like going there in the week days, so I get relax and play alot in the trees of the park!;)
So here I am in one of the green corners of the city, but the picture is in Black and White.

is one of the best days to be in the Ibirapuera Park.
Occasionally you meet your friends during some of the morning music concerts presented there.
Or you can only go there for a walk, some jogging, cycling, skating, or just for beeing there... it is all you need.

That's the place where people from Sao Paulo can scape from the busy and crazy city...it's great for picnics, jogging, walks, sunbathing, cycling and other sports. The scenery is very beautiful, and the atmosphere is relaxing. For adults, children, dogs, it's just perfect.

OK, the parque do Ibirapuera is huge, and it's nice to wander around, walking... But if you have no time, rent a bike at the entrance (3 reales an hour - 1 USD for one hour) and ride as fast as you can !!

Parque Ibirapuera - Ibirapuera Park
Very nice atmosphere and nature, pleasant lake and enough room to practise whatever sports you want (except for the snow-based ones, of course). They often promote some very good and free concerts there. Check it out!

when the urban jungle is wearing you down and you feel in the mood to see hints of green and chase baby ducks, head here! there's a crazy wonderful selection of museums on its premises, but of course I came on the day of the week when they were closed (drrr--but we can never plan breakdowns, can we?). it's far away from the subway, like most things in SP, so wimp out & take a taxi or ride the bus. I saw a giant louise bourgeois sculpture through one of the museum windows and wished sorely I had come on a better day. You can rent a bicycle and go round and round the park, which seems to be full of trees and lots of taut genetically perfect barbie doll types.

Brazilian architect, Oscar Niemeyer, and landscape artist, Burle Marx, designed one of the largest parks in Sao Paulo. Some of the many delightful features included in this wonderful park are four lakes, a plant nursery, a Japanese pavilion, the Planetarium, the Folklore Museum and art museums, including the oldest museum of modern art in the country, the Marquise of Ibirapuera Park.

Stop by Ibirapuera park on a free afternoon, or night if you aren't afraid of being in a big city part after dark.
Ibirapuera is São Paulo's largest park, designed by Oscar Niemeyer and Roberto Burle Marx. There are several things to do and see in the park like the Japanese Pavilion.
the pavilion was uilt in Japan and reassembled at Ibirapuera. There are many interconnected lakes and lots of water fowl. Sao Paulo's planetarium is housed in the park.

The Parque do Ibirapuera, a large grassy area, is Sao Paulo's major public park. Its lake is a refreshing presence, and the park's monuments add a touch of solemnity. But, the planetarium is what sets the park apart.
