very famous opera house in Manaus,

you have to go there (to Manaus) if you want to go to the Amazonas, but one day/night would be enough.

by the way, in Manaus me and my friend were robbed out just in a street beside of our hotel.

    So sometimes dangerous....

This i s a absolutely must if you are in Rio de Janeiro, well a lot of tourist, so recommended to enter in the morning, just when it opens.

You have such an amazing sight, beautifil, on the copacapana, sugar loaf and nearly all of Rio de Janeiro.

    Just amazing!

and of course the Jesus Statue!

BEWARD OF TRAP (IGUANA TOURS ) FROM MANAUS

I just did a 3 day trip with iguana tours (also in the book)

    AVOID Iguana Tours!!

    BAD:
david our guide was crap. didnt know anything about flora or fauna.
The lodge didnt have space for us, so we ended up sleeping in the stairwell. no mozzie nets etc...
there wasnt a huge amount of wildlife. and the lodge was in what i would call farm land!

    GOOD:
had a local young guy driving the boat who was good w spotting and hunting out interesting things.. however David our guide seemed to get in the way when we were trying to see them. i dont think he had ever seen anything before!

Dont pay more than 100reais/per person/day

I have heard that the national park north of manaus is much better for wildlife. you need a park pass or something, which takes 36hours or so to aquire.... so may be adviseable to book ahead.
